dotdot & Glow dots - Android Alternative Games for the Dots iTunes

Puzzle games are quite popular on Apple iTunes as well as on Google play. It's great way to kill your time and Dots is one of the simplest and addictive game on iTunes. Dots - a game about connecting has been on iTunes for a while and one of the top rated games. The rules are easy to understand. You can connect dots vertically and horizontally but diagonal connection is not allowed. You can trade your points to buy dot erasers and time extender which extends your time by 10 seconds.

Very weird problem  about the Glow Dots is a battery drain. Testing it on our Galaxy S3 and Xperia S, we saw 8-10% battery drain after playing 10 consecutive games. It's surprising for a such small game which doesn't have high graphic to suck so much of battery.

A new edition to games of dots, dotodot made it's few weeks back. The developer of the game Jarvis and has created game with some twists. This game is visually appealing and allow users to change the themes and color of the dots. One of the twist is bonus bar present at the top. If you connect dots with same color of bonus bar, you will get bonus. This game allows you to connect vertically, horizontally as well as diagonally.

Another noticeable feature is the social integration which allows you sign in via Google plus account and share your score. The game even allows you to save your games on clouds and resume later. Isn't that great?
Game has used very minimal colors and probably that's the biggest reason it's much more appealing in terms of visual.

Temple Run Released for Windows Phone - Download Now !

After a long wait the Windows marketplace finally gets the Temple Run game, though the game is the first edition and not the Temple Run 2, its still a consolation. While the iOS and Android users are enjoying the second version - Temple Run 2, iMangi Studios has released first version of its highly popular game for the WP users. You can download Temple Run instantly from the Microsoft marketplace if you have a Windows OS 8 smartphone.

One of the major factors for people to get reluctant while buying a Windows Phone was the less number of games and apps. But as iMangi and other major studios have taken a step forward towards the Windows Phone, it will be interesting to see if we see more and more developers offering their Apps and games.

The marketplace says that the game will work only for the Windows 8 Os users and that can be disappointing for users having Windows 7.5, 7.8 OS. We are yet to confirm if the game is available for some old devices having lower version of operating system.

Temple Run for Windows phone - Game Review

We downloaded & tested the game on a couple of Windows devices - Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. The game play is pretty smooth and it gets executed very well on the Windows Phone OS. The problems of lagging which we usually see on the Android devices was not there on WP. While playing, we've experienced that sometimes game fails to register the swipe which is annoying but its still yet to be known if that is a hardware or a software issue. Though the issue was intermittent, it has been reported by lot of users.

Lumia 820 is another mid level smartphone from Nokia. We observed some white background while playing Temple Run on the Lumia 820. The game wasn't as smooth as the 920 and it did miss some swipe but overall it was a well rounded and playable experience.

A few days ago, Firemonkeys/EA notified that their highly anticipated car racing simulator Real Racing 3 will be launching on Feb 28th. However, EA has surprised people today by launching the third edition of their hit game in the New Zealand and the Australian App store.

Cordy 2 Game Review for iOS and Android - Fun Platformer with Amazing Visuals!

Cordy 2 released for iOS and Android Devices

Gone are the days when the Android developers had to wait for weeks to play their new games while friends with their iOS counterparts were busy setting high scores. Cordy 2, the sequel to the popular game Cordy has been launched a few days ago simultaneously for both iOS and Android Devices and is climbing the charts thanks to its beautiful design and visuals, arcade style music and its game play which is reminiscent of the old school classic games like Mario and Sonic.

Cordy 2 Review and Gameplay

The first thing you notice when you start playing the game are its stunning visuals with its bright neon colorings and cartoon-ey characters. You play as Cordy who is a robot with a CRT monitor for a face and are tasked with saving your fellow automated friends from the evil Boogaloo.

The gameplay itself looks very similar to Mario in which you have to jump, double jump platforms and stomp enemies but add in the twist of Sonic style gameplay with the bouncing off springs and running into the mix. The result sounds a pain in theory but is executed extremely well and the game is a ton of fun to play.

Even though the gameplay is well designed, executed and a lot of fun... it is the graphics that keep things interesting in the game. The levels are all beautifully designed while trying to blend a old school platformer into a 3D game with lots of attention to detail

Does Cordy 2 lag?

There is always a downside to building a game with such beautiful graphics. We tested the Cordy 2 on an iPhone 5, iPhone 4, Sony Xperia S and a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the game ran flawlessly without any noticeable lag. The game is compatible with a lot of devices though we're assuming there might be some problems with the framerate on the older devices which may result in some lag but that is to be expected nowadays where the games are requiring more and more processor power to run them.

Cordy 2 Prices

The Cordy 2 game follows a different pricing model than the rest of the games nowadays where it gives you a few levels to play for free and then charges $4.99 to unlock the rest of the levels. While a few users may see this as a sort of trick to lure them to download the game, it would be silly to assume that a game as beautifully designed as this would be given for free without a catch. But is it worth the $4.99? Id say no... No matter how good the game is it would have been right at home with a $1.99 or a $2.99 price tag.

Wacky Dragons Indie Game available for iOS - Simple, Addictive and Fun

Wacky Dragons available for iOS

We all love games we can pick up and play for a while at any time of the day and then go back to whatever we were doing before. The popularity of games like these is shown by the success of Temple Run, Subway Surfers, Jetpack Joyride etc. and today I came across another such game called Wacky Dragons which was just launched for the iOS platform after being popular on the Windows Phone one. The game is similar to "Helicopter in a Cave" only this one offers dragons, special abilities and upgrades!

Fun and Challenging

It has a very simple control mechanism where you touch the screen to fly your dragon and leave the touch to drop down, you have to navigate through the caves of Mount Roardor. Though it seems simple enough, the controls are actually hard to master for accuracy and even though that improves as you play the game, more than not every single mistake you make will end in a Game Over. While traveling through these caves, you have small challenges like popping consecutive balloons in a row which reward you more gems. A lot of simple things like these have been used to keep the game interesting.

Dragons with powers!

The game basically is made around dragons exploring the Mount Roardor caves. Initially you start off with a yellow dragon called 'Round Ronnie' who is an obese dragon with the special ability to shrink itself (haha, an obese dragon with the ability to shrink itself :P) As you play more and collect gemstones you get to unlock the other dragons with more power. Different types of dragons are available to the user, each having their special ability to help you through the game for instance there's a dragon called 'Mad Matt' that can charge through the barriers breaking them. You can upgrade your dragon's ability to have a better chance of survival in the game using the gems you collect in-game. Another little perk they've added is that your dragon can wear hats that can be unlocked in the same manner. These hats themselves have abilities for instance one hat increases the ability level while another allows more gems to appear. The game has good sprites, the devs have paid attention to detail and all in all the result is a pleasant looking game with its cute & obese dragons with the backdrop of the side-scrolling caves.

In conclusion, the game is certainly fun to be play with and since the devs have included a lot of upgrades in the form of various dragons and each with a their own abilities , it gives us the initiative to come back for more.

We loved the subway surfer on iOS. We have spent hours ebing addicted to it, playing Subway Surfer on 4th Gen iPod, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and what we experienced was a marvel. Playing Subway Surfer on iOS devices was absolute joy. If you have already played this game on the iOS, then the Android version of Subway Surfer might disappoint some of you.

Disappointing performance on budget Smartphones
We tested Subway Surfer on various Android devices like Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy SL, Sony Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo L, HTC One x , HTC One V. Game needs  512 Mbs of Ram but we have noticed a lot of lag and freezing problem on every 512 Mb RAM Android device which is disappointing. We experienced a lot of lag problems on Galaxy S, Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo L. Any phone with less ram is likely to face this problem.

Works like a charm on high end Smartphones
While most of the Android phone's disappointed us, Galaxy S2, S3,HTC One-X did not show any lagging problem. Game worked really well on all the devices with 1 GB RAM and playing Subway Surfer was a lot of fun on these devices.

Game - Story and Plot

Subway surfer belongs to 'endless run' kind of category. A guy is caught while showing his graffiti skills on the train. Trying to avoid a security guards and his loyal dog, guy runs around the obstacles and jumps over the steady and moving train. The whole run is inside a subway & on the railway tracks.

The prime goal of the game is to run , use different powers & collect the coins. Multiplier increases gradually when you complete the missions in the game. Double tapping on the screen fetches you the hoverboard and one extra life.

Ratings

The game itself deserves 5 star for having a similar game-play to 'Temple Run' and still keeping things fresh but not Android devices. It is a new game and still have lot of bugs which have been reported by various users. Games need some efficiency to avoid lagging and freezing problems. We are rating it as an average 3.5/5.
