Download Jailbreak for iOS7 by Evad3rs - Jailbreak iPhone 5S, iPad and iPod

Well known iOS jailbreak developer team - Evad3rs has released the first iOS 7 jailbreak. The official website http://evasi0n.com rolls out first version of iOS 7.x Jailbreak. iOS7 has some of  major OS update over previous OS and we didn't expect any jailbreak for the OS. The jailbreak will work with Apple devices like iPhone 5S, iPhone 5 , Iphone 4S, New iPad, Ipad Mini 2, iPad Air etc.

Instruction for Jailbreaking iPhone, iPad & iPod

A word of caution before you proceed: - It has been noticed that some of the devices are not able to update the patch. They stuck on the Apple Boot Logo and that's why please restore your device to 7.0.4. with iTunes first.

The jailbreak can be installed with a Windows, Linux or a MAC. You need to have

  1. An apple device - iPhone, iPad or iPod running  7.0.4
  2. A USB cable to connect the apple device to the system

Cydia Problem for 64 bit devices

The Evad3rs haven't co-ordinated with the makers of cydia and that's why cydia is half broken on 64 bit devices like - iPhone 5S, iPad 4 and iPods. Some of the tweaks by Cydia are broken as well and we might see another jailbreak update in a week.

We will keep you update about the latest iOS 7 updates.

iOS7: How to Change SIRI's Search Engine to Google from Bing

Every iOS update brings tons of new features and new UI changes. iOS7 is not an exception and the beta update has been very significant in terms of default apps. Most of the changes are quite positive and welcomed by the Apple user community. Apple replaced Google by bing as a default search engine for voice assistant siri. That simply means SIRI will respond to the user queries with search results powered by Microsoft Bing. well , this is not a disaster still will be users willing to use SIRI with Google.

Replace Bing with Google for SIRI

The new OS has made quite a few changes in SIRI and that's why now results generated from Microsoft Bing are shown in embedded form. iOS7 beta version does not provide any setting to switch from Bing to Google but we are going to see a very simple trick to redirect you to Google. let's see how can you redirect a search on Google through SIRI.

before you could see the trick and start using Google, let us remind you that Microsoft Bing is the second largest search engine used after Google. so searches you'll get from SIRI will be perfect and close to what you will be searching. enough talking and let's see the trick.

Whatever you'd like to search just say 'search Google for ...'

if you're looking for a new iPhone candy shell case then you should say 'search Google for iPhone candy shell case'. SIRI opens Safari browser and redirects you to the Google with searched query 'iPhone candy shell case'.

This sounds pretty stupid but it does work. Will you like to get results from Microsoft Bing or will you use prefer to get your search results from Google?

Enable GoogleNow for your Country on iPhone or iPad

Google recently updated their iOS Search app with the features of Google Now. Unfortunately these new features were restricted to only the US and not for the rest of the world. Google probably decided to enable these features in one country first as a beta test and then rolling out the feature to the rest of the world after fixing out any kinks that are found.

How to enable Google Now for your country

Google Now is basically Google's own version of the virtual assistant Siri and while it wont have the deep integration into iOS as Siri does, Google Now is a good deal more accurate in its speech recognition and faster in its web search. The GoogleNowEnabler tweak unlocks the full set of features for whichever country you are in thus allowing you to make the full use of the App itself. The tweak is available for free on the ModMyi repo which comes added by default into Cydia.

One of the prerequisites for the tweak is of course to have the latest version of Google Search App installed, and the rest is taken care of by the tweak as just installing it unlocks the hidden features in the App. Recently the iOS Jailbreak community has been extremely active bringing out more and more tweaks and showing more innovation with their new ideas and the GoogleNowEnabler tweak is an example of how quick the Jailbreak community is responding to any updates in the ecosystem as the App was only released a couple of days ago.

We tried out the tweak to check out the Google Now features, and we have to admit that it is pretty good and it seems that there arent many exclusive features left that the Android OS has and which haven't been ported to iOS. So check out the GoogleNowEnabler tweak which will unlock the Google Now features for your country, available on the ModMyi repo and let us know what you think of it in the comments section.

iOS Jailbreak Tweak Giffy: Play gifs in iPhone Photos app

iOS is touted as the more refined OS when it comes to UI and functionality. However, there is still a lot of functionality that is missing from the stock iOS firmware itself and this is where applying a Jailbreak comes into the picture with more and more developers making tweaks that allow iOS to be much more functional.

How to play gif files on your iPhone

One of the minor features that was ignored by Apple while making iOS was the feature to play gifs on your iPhone. Yes, you can attach the gif into your mail to see it playing but this is more of a going around the problem rather than solving it altogether. One of the well known tweaks that allows your gif files to be played directly from your photos application is Giffy.

play gif files iphone giffy

Giffy is a simple little tweak that does exactly what it says and once you have installed the tweak your iPhone is able to play the gif files right from your iPhone's native Photo app and we have tested it that it works as advertised. The tweak is available on the BigBoss repo for a nominal price of $0.99

iOS Jailbreak Tweak BgVideo: Play YouTube or Safari Videos in Background

iOS6 brought with it a lot of minor changes to the iOS system as a whole, changes which werent very apparent from the start but were showing sooner than later. Some of those changes were really amazing to find such as the detailing inside the music app where the app reflection tilts based on your gyroscope and some were just simply annoying.

BgVideo: Play YouTube or Safari Videos in Background

One of these changes was that before iOS6 you could run a YouTube video or run some other video in Safari and then when you closed Safari the audio still played in the background, better knows as audio backgrounding. iOS6 changed that where it disabled the background audio and it got very annoying that you couldnt listen whatever played in the background while doing something else on your phone.

This is where the Jailbreak community shows its awesomeness, by simply reinstating the useful features of the previous versions which were removed. Installing the tweak BgVideo allows the processes to work the same as before and once you reveal the multitasker you see Safari or YouTube instead of the Music app, therefore enabling the streaming audio to be played in the background.

BgVideo Play YouTube or Safari Videos in Background

The BgVideo tweak is really useful for when you're usually streaming your audio on the go while doing some other activity like running or going for a stroll etc. The tweak however is still not available on the public Cydia sources, so for that you have to add the following source into your Cydia and then install the tweak.

 http://cydia.myrepospace.com/bestguyhaha/

BgVideo Tweak Release Notes

BgVideo can reenable the native background audio playback function of videos on iOS 6.x which is supported by Quicktime. No configuration is needed. You need to tap the "play" button in multitasking bar just like what you did in the past. Background YouTube playback is back. Videos in other websites which are played by Quicktime are also supported.

iOS Jailbreak Tweak Safari Download Manager: Download files, mp3s and videos to your iPhone

Jailbreaking is definitely one of the ways to open it up to a lot of possibilities, try new themes, add more and more needed functionality to your iPhone. One of the most missed features on iOS is that you as a user cannot really download any file from the internet and save it on your device. This problem can be easily rectified by using a jailbreak tweak called 'Safari Download Manager'

Safari Download Manager: Download files, mp3s and videos to your iPhone

The Safari Download Manager Jailbreak tweak is a sort of an extension to your Safari browser that allows you to download practically all file types over the internet, be it your mp3 songs or be it a YouTube video which you can later on import into your iPhone The tweak has been made highly configurable in the fact that it allows you to decide which extensions to allow for downloads and which you don't want to allow and also allows you to download multiple files at the same time and choose where each file goes.

Safari Download Manager - Download files to your iphone

The tweak however comes at a steep price of $5 and whether or not it is worth the amount is up to you. We have found it to be an extremely useful tweak on our device and combined with more tweaks such as Bridge and iFile it becomes extremely powerful to use as you can download and view/import any media that you have downloaded and can move it around with iFile.

Safari Download Manager - Download files to your iphone

The Safari Download Manager is available for download from the BigBoss repo at a price of $5 and in our opinion it offers enough of a punch to be worth every bit of it.

Safari Download Manager Release Notes

Safari Download Manager is an extension that adds a powerful, highly-configurable download manager to the iPhone's web browser. Like never before, you can take control over downloaded file types, and harness the true power of the network connection on your device.
Choose to download more than one file at a time!
Choose to break out of the limited downloading you used to do!
Choose to make your iPhone or iPad the mobile computing platform it deserves to be!
Choose Safari Download Manager for all your downloading needs!
Please note: Safari Download Manager is just that, a download manager. It will, by itself, not allow you to view your downloaded files; for that we recommend installing iFile. Purchasing Safari Download Manager will save you $2.00 on iFile.

iOS Jailbreak Tweak Bridge: Import songs from iPhone to Music Library

So you've finally jailbroken your phone hearing about all the cool things you can do after its jailbroken. One of those new and interesting things you can do after you've jailbroken your iPhone or your iOS device is that you can download and import songs into your music or videos app directly from your phone. Another added feature of this tweak is that it allows you to add your downloaded audio file as a ringtone to your iPhone's existing collection

How to Import Songs to your iPhone using Bridge

Lets say you have downloaded your song or the video using the Safari Download Manager tweak or you downloaded the video via some other method. Now whats left is to import the downloaded song or the youtube video into your iPhone stock Music or Videos app and even add your relevant artwork to the song. This can be done using a tweak called 'Bridge' which allows you to skip the entire 'connect to your PC and sync with iTunes' process just to add a few more songs to your library.

Bridge import songs from iphone to music library

Add Ringtone to iPhone via Bridge

Another minor functionality that this tweak adds is that it allows you to add a tune as a ringtone to your iPhone and since in iOS you arent allowed to use your songs as a ringtone this is an added bonus.

Bridge import songs from iphone to music library

This tweak is available in Cydia in the BigBoss Repo for a price of $1.99 which is more than worth the functionality of the tweak as the 'sync with the iTunes' process can be an annoyance sometimes where you have to be dependent on a computer to be able to add anything to your library.

Real Racing 3 for iOS Launched in New Zealand and Australia, Android and rest of the world on Feb 28th

A few days ago, Firemonkeys/EA notified that their highly anticipated car racing simulator Real Racing 3 will be launching on Feb 28th. However, EA has surprised people today by launching the third edition of their hit game in the New Zealand and the Australian App store.

Real Racing 3 has Stunning Game Graphics, features Mint 3 Engine

real racing for iOS cover

The game is known for setting benchmarks in the graphics aspect with none of the car simulation games coming even close to it when it comes to the attention to detail. The Real Racing 3 game was demoed at the iPhone 5 event back in October causing waves and raising expectations of fans all over. Although it has been three years since the launch of Real Racing 2, even now none of the simulator games come even close to matching the quality of graphics delivered by the game with even games like Asphalt and NFS Most Wanted not being able to match up to it. And now the developers have stepped it up several notches by offering a graphics experience that are second to none and will definitely leave you amazed at how beautiful the Real Racing 3 game graphics are. The game features the new new Mint 3 Engine which delivers persistent car damage, fully functioning rear view mirrors and dynamic reflections for a super-enhanced racing reality.

Real Racing 3 Freemium and IAP (In App Purchases)

The new game follows a different model than the previous ones, with freemium now being the most popular model for most App developers, Real Racing 3 has decided to follow the same which means it is free to play with in app purchases added in the game for sale. There are several hundred tracks and cars to be unlocked as you proceed in the game, and although the game is free to play, there are enough little extras within to entice the hardcore gamer into spending a few bucks here and there. If you love the game just to play a quick race now and then the Real Racing 3 freemium model is ideal for you, where you dont need to spend anything to enjoy your game.

Real Racing 3 for Android

Good new for the Android fans is that the Real Racing 3 game will be launched for Android on Feb 28th too. Though we're pretty sure the game will be able to run properly on all the high end devices like the Note2, the S3 or the HTC DNA... it remains to be seen how the game fares on an Android device with a slightly lower specification as by the looks of it the game offers some amazing graphics and it is possible that a few devices might have a problem keeping up with its framerate.

Cordy 2 Game Review for iOS and Android - Fun Platformer with Amazing Visuals!

Cordy 2 released for iOS and Android Devices

Gone are the days when the Android developers had to wait for weeks to play their new games while friends with their iOS counterparts were busy setting high scores. Cordy 2, the sequel to the popular game Cordy has been launched a few days ago simultaneously for both iOS and Android Devices and is climbing the charts thanks to its beautiful design and visuals, arcade style music and its game play which is reminiscent of the old school classic games like Mario and Sonic.

Cordy 2 Review and Gameplay

The first thing you notice when you start playing the game are its stunning visuals with its bright neon colorings and cartoon-ey characters. You play as Cordy who is a robot with a CRT monitor for a face and are tasked with saving your fellow automated friends from the evil Boogaloo.

The gameplay itself looks very similar to Mario in which you have to jump, double jump platforms and stomp enemies but add in the twist of Sonic style gameplay with the bouncing off springs and running into the mix. The result sounds a pain in theory but is executed extremely well and the game is a ton of fun to play.

Even though the gameplay is well designed, executed and a lot of fun... it is the graphics that keep things interesting in the game. The levels are all beautifully designed while trying to blend a old school platformer into a 3D game with lots of attention to detail

Does Cordy 2 lag?

There is always a downside to building a game with such beautiful graphics. We tested the Cordy 2 on an iPhone 5, iPhone 4, Sony Xperia S and a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the game ran flawlessly without any noticeable lag. The game is compatible with a lot of devices though we're assuming there might be some problems with the framerate on the older devices which may result in some lag but that is to be expected nowadays where the games are requiring more and more processor power to run them.

Cordy 2 Prices

The Cordy 2 game follows a different pricing model than the rest of the games nowadays where it gives you a few levels to play for free and then charges $4.99 to unlock the rest of the levels. While a few users may see this as a sort of trick to lure them to download the game, it would be silly to assume that a game as beautifully designed as this would be given for free without a catch. But is it worth the $4.99? Id say no... No matter how good the game is it would have been right at home with a $1.99 or a $2.99 price tag.

Download

You can download the game from the following links to try it out. Let us know what you think of the game in the comments.

Why you should still buy the iPad Mini - Advantages and Pros of iPad Mini over Nexus 7 and competitors

why-you-should-still-buy-ipad-mini
The iPad Mini is the latest device to cause an uproar in the market, with its supposedly mediocre screen and processor everyone out there has their pitchforks against Apple. We too published a post saying why one should avoid the iPad Mini and prefer the alternatives available in the market such as the Nexus 7 or maybe the Kindle. I, however being a self professed Apple fan think differently than my co-author. We have to realize that in the end Apple and Google are both companies out to make profit and they will make it either way, and if something is cheaper there will be some compromises. Sure its hard to go back into the "non-Retina" world now that we have a taste for it, but I have my reasons why you should still prefer to go for the iPad Mini.

Even though my first point of advantage could be about how the iOS itself is a lot smoother than Android, lets keep that out of the argument. We all know that Android will sooner or later remove the kinks in its OS and will be able to match up to Apple's offering. With that, here are my reasons on why I would prefer an iPad Mini still.

Processor Comparisons

Now before everyone starts shouting that Apple sucks in the matter of giving out spec upgrades also consider the fact that iOS and Android both run on different architectures. Think of the fact that an iPod touch having 128MB RAM and a single core can easily run high end games like Infinity Blade and N.O.V.A without any lag at all, while one of these is not available for Android, the other stutters and lags like crazy on a 1GB RAM dual core device. Looking at that comparison, is a device that has 512MB RAM and a dual core processor enough for anything the developers can throw at it? Yep. You can count on it.

Build Quality of the Device

If you're buying a device that you want to last, you would obviously prefer one with a good build quality. Apple has always been far far ahead of its competitors in that field. I still have a six year-old iPod that works perfectly fine even today. They know they are the king of the ring when it comes to the build quality match. And if I want a device that will definitely last at least 2-3 years versus a device which creaks and bends when it is new, there is no contest on which one to pick.

Upgrade Cycle

Apple has a yearly upgrade cycle (barring the iPhone 4S and the iPad 4) and maintains backward compatibility of at least up to two generations. I know many people are thinking of how the original iPad isn't even supported anymore even though its only three years old but then I can argue using the example of the iPhone 3GS... A device almost four years old and its still getting iOS updates. Whereas Android devices on the other hand fade out of memory when they reach the customer. Devices like the Nexus One which are slightly over two years old are already out of the loop of software updates. So if you need to buy a device that you will hold on to for the next three years, which one will you choose? One getting updates and slightly pricier or the one that doesn't guarantee updates and is cheaper?

No Malware allowed

I don't think this one needs much explanation. Downloading an Android App these days seems like a game in itself... with the user thinking will it be another ad infested joke on an actual App or will it actually be fun to use as a daily means of consuming data and media while on the other hand every App submitted to the App Store is reviewed by Apple to see if it is up to their standards.

Rich Ecosystem

And now for my biggest argument which is also sort of abstract in nature... I'm a sucker for aesthetics, and by that I don't mean just the beautiful hardware aesthetic. The Android Apps are always in a seemingly endless loop of playing catch-up to the iOS counterparts. And even then they're not as beautiful as the ones on iOS. Also add the fact that iOS has a lot of exclusives that are an absolute joy to use for example Garage Band, DJay, Bastion and Infinity Blade show off the marvelous capabilities of your device. Yes, Android seems to have a replacement app for everything out there but that doesn't mean its a good app. For instance, take the Facebook, one of the most popular ones on both platforms... and you will notice a difference between the two. More developers flock to iOS simply because its easier to develop and easier to sell on iOS. The SDK for iOS is by far Apple's biggest and most underrated achievement in my opinion. It allows amateur developers to produce beautiful Apps and makes it all look effortless. When you have to use a device day in and day out, after a while you wont care about what specs your device has and it wont matter if its a dual core or a quad core. What will matter is what you see on that big beautiful screen on yours. And so far Apple is winning.

The use of the desktop has made us all so used to comparing RAM and processor speeds that we compare specs these days without even thinking of anything else, be it a different device altogether (Phone vs Tablet vs Desktop) or a different architecture (Android vs Windows Phone vs iOS). Its as if people just want to boast of having the biggest thing, be it the screen size or the hardware specifications. My huge rant may or may not have convinced you of my opinion, but just remember what we were taught when we were kids, good things often come in small packages... and with the iPad Mini I say we might even see the larger iPad become obsolete in favor of this little package.

iPhone 5 India - Launch Date and Price Rumors

The iPhone 5 launched just a month ago has been one of the best selling smartphones in the world, so much so that Apple is still unable to deal with the inane amount of demand in the market. However, The iPhone 5 hasn't been launched in India yet where the demand for the iPhone has grown over the years and the people are desperate to get their hands on the beautiful phone.

The iPhone 5 - So what's New?

The iPhone 5, Made entirely out of aluminum and glass, weighs 112 grams, and is 20 percent lighter than the iPhone 4S, and is the thinnest iPhone yet at 7.6mm. Apple has chosen to debut iOS 6 with the iPhone 5. The new OS includes Apple's own highly controversial Maps app, an updated version of Siri and lots more. Overall, the new iPhone has been upgraded in almost all respects. The new iPhone comes with iOS 6 with over 200 new features, a 4-inch Retina display, an Apple-designed A6 chip for blazing fast performance, ultra-fast wireless technology and an improved battery life.

One of the biggest changes to iOS is the addition of Apple’s own Maps app in the place of Google Maps. The new Maps app has a built-in search for local points of interest, with over 100 million possible suggestions. Other features of the Maps app include turn-by-turn navigation, routing, Flyover maps, satellite imagery – that wraps around the 3D maps – and the ability to get turn-by-turn directions directly through Siri.

Here is a quick look at the highlighted features of the iPhone 5:
  •     4-inch, 326ppi Retina display at 1136 x 640 pixels,
  •     GPRS, EDGE, EV-DO, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSDPA, LTE and Wi-Fi
  •     8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 720p front-facing camera
  •     16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions

Launch Date

Rumors suggested that Apple would launch the iPhone 5 in India on the 26th October. However, Apple India has officially rejected rumors that the iPhone 5 is going to be launched in India on October 26. The folks at IBTimes India have contacted an Apple official, who confirmed that the company has no plans to launch the iPhone 5 in the country 'anytime soon'.

"We have no announcements at the moment on a launch (iPhone 5) or price in India. All reports currently (doing the rounds) are purely media speculation," PR Manager, Apple India told IBTimes.

Rumours about the iPhone 5 were triggered after BGR India citing 'multiple sources' claimed the device is going to hit the Indian shores on the last Friday of this month, which happens to be October 26. The tech site further claimed that Apple will taking care of the distribution of the iPhone 5 own, instead of teaming with the Indian cellular operators.

Hopefully we will know soon when Apple’s iPhone 5 will be launched in India. What we do know from previous roll-outs, is that India is on the ‘third wave’ of the official launch of the device. Speculation is that it is likely to go on sale ahead of the Diwali shopping season where it will see a large amount of sales..

Pricing

According to reports, the iPhone 5 will bear pricing similar or higher to the iPhone 4S (Rs. 44,500 for the 16GB model), when it launched it in India last year. Apple had first reduced the prices of the iPhone 4S to Rs 41,500 but later they were slashed down to Rs 38,500. This could be an indication that Apple is trying to decide on a suitable price for the new iPhone5 for the Indian market. Why I Hate Apple Products

Why I Hate Apple Products

First off, let me be clear that I love Apple and its products in some ways. We are living in the time where Apple is the King and I have to admit that I love lots of things about the Apple products. May it be the amazing new iPad with its beautiful retina display or the ‘iPhone 5’ with its amazing build quality and impressive hardware.

The moment you pick up those marvels of engineering in your hand, you fall in love with them. Apple devices are intuitive, they are aesthetically beautiful and you can feel the incredible build quality and most of all they offer the best hardware specs that Apple can muster at the time.

But still, I hate Apple products in some ways... no, I will not be complaining about the new iOS6 maps. Its more of what Apple does to keep the user restricted to its own system, rather than allow them to do what they want. Let the Apple-bashing begin!

iOS makes you do things the way Apple thinks is right

Apples iOS forces you to do things the Apple’s way. That is the biggest reason which makes me hate the apple products like iPhone. There always will be lot of limitations about how you will be able to customize your iPhone. Apple does the same for the iPhone’s hardware. You can’t really enjoy the freedom on the iPhone, unless and until you jailbreak your iPhone. Even though Apples products are extremely intuitive, in my opinion people should be allowed to choose what they want. The biggest point of debate being the default launch applications e.g. a URL will always open in safari, and you cannot make any other browser as your default no matter how much you want to.

Sharing with devices is a pain

When it’s about connecting to the other device – system, tablet or mobile phone, apple flat out denies you any rights. Its like they want every device of yours to be an Apple device and nothing else e.g. Apple has Bluetooth which can be paired with only Apple devices. So if your friend has an Android phone and you have an iPhone, and you want a few pics they have taken or maybe some documents, you have to rely on third party applications or cloud based applications like Dropbox etc which is not really fair. No doubt the Bluetooth technology is outdated, and one in a thousand people might rarely have the use for it people still want the option. That's how customers think, they don't care if they ever use it or not but they want the option!

Micro SD card dilemma

I have never understood why iPhone and iPad doesn't have a memory slot. It is true that having internal memory makes your device faster but the price difference between 16 GB iPhone and 64 GB iPhone is ridiculous. Maybe its a way to keep the quality of the phone intact or maybe its just another way of making more profit but shelling out another 100$ for more memory is absolutely insane when a memory card can offer the same for around 30$ There has to be a better way for two devices to share data between them than repeatedly syncing them with the computer which brings me to my next point.

The Annoying iTunes

iTunes might be a good software no doubt, but having to sync everything I need to add through a software is extremely annoying and i really hate iTunes for that  Wanna play new games? Sync. Wanna listen to more songs? Sync. Wanna watch more videos? Sync! Its frustrating. Why cant we just drag and drop the stuff onto my iPhone/iPad? I'm sure if it wasn't for this piece of evil software people would be a lot more accepting to the Apple way.

Let me end my rant by saying that I understand why Apple does these things. They do it to maintain their quality control and security. But these are the same things that make me prefer an Android device over the Apple ones. And I know for a fact that I'm not alone in thinking the same.
