Samsung recently launched Samsung Galaxy Premier - successor of s2 with android 4.2 jellybean. Galaxy Premier comes features 4.65 super AMOLED screen & 8 Megapixel camera. This android phone has features very similar to the legendary S2 in terms of hardware. It's very clear that it inherits looks of Galaxy S3.
Hardware - Galaxy S3 wins
Galaxy S3 scores much better than Galaxy Premier in terms of hardware. S3 has 1.4 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A9 processor which is far more better than Premier's dual core processor of 1.5 GHz. S3 has Mali-400MP GPU where as Premier is loaded with PowerVR SGX544.Display - its a tie
There are no big differences in terms of display as both smartphones have super AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution which is the best for 4.8 inch screen of Galaxy S3. Galaxy Premier has smaller display of 4.65 inches.Both the android phones have 1 GB ram to support the respective processors.
OS - jellybean vs ics
Galaxy Premier I9260 comes with 'out of the box' jellybean & that's the only thing we liked about Galaxy Premier. Galaxy S3 comes with android 4.0 ICS but as we all know S3 is already getting jellybean update in many countries & Galaxy S3 will surely get the key lime pie update.
Camera - S3 gets an edge
Every high end Samsung Galaxy device is loaded with 8 mega pixel camera. Galaxy Premier I9260 and Samsung Galaxy S3 are not an exception for this factor.S3 gets an edge for it's features like Simultaneous HD video and image recording,face and smile detection, image stabilization which are not present in the Samsung Galaxy Premier.
Prices - Galaxy Premier is overpriced
This factor made us think about samsung's pricing strategies. Ideally it is suppose to be priced more than galaxy s2 , galaxy s3 mini & lesser than Galaxy S3. but the current pricing shows that it is going to cost more than the Galaxy S3 cots. That is quite disappointing for those who are looking for some good alternative to s2.when LG is coming up with NEXUS 4 which costs just $299, we fear that Premier will be just another overpriced android smartphone.
