Google launched three new Nexus devices on Oct 29th, The Nexus 10" tablet, a Nexus 7 with cellular option and a new Nexus phone: The LG Nexus 4. The phone as both pros and cons as with every phone but the phone seems very impressive with LG taking its turn at building a smartphone this time rather than Samsung. Here are what we think the major selling points in Google's latest offering
Specs of Nexus 4
The internals of the Nexus 4 are packed to the core; coming in with 2GB of RAM as standard, a 2,100 mAh battery (10 hours talk-time), NFC for transferring files or making payments, Bluetooth, and your usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support. This phone blows away the competition because most phones at this price usually offer somewhere around 1GB RAM and a dual core processor if you're luckyDisplay
The Nexus 4 comes with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1280×768, which equates to 320 ppi. The screen might be a downer for geeks who have fallen in love with the Galaxy Nexus’ Super AMOLED HD display, but keep in mind that an IPS display panel is much more sharper and doesn’t have that grainy look to it, unlike AMOLED. And also, the display has a 16:10 ratio instead of 16:9, which makes the makes the display of the Nexus 4 wider, and not taller compared to the Galaxy Nexus.Camera
The camera has been improved over the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 4 comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Low-light performance has been given a significant boost over previous generation Nexus devices, hence you can be rest assured that the device will take more than satisfactory photos even in low-light conditions. For most Android power users this is a big deal as they get the full unadulterated version of their favorite OS.- Even though the device offers a 16GB model (which is way too less) it supports USB on the go (USB-OTG) which means you can connect a flash drive to it with a special cable and have all your media stored on the flash.
- The pricing has been mentioned once in the post, but its almost unbelievable how cheap the phone is compared to what it offers. The phone would be right at home in the 500$ category instead it retails for a 299$ price which is a steal.
